Judges 13 is such a great passage that show’s God’s generosity! I love how God appeared to Manoah’s wife and assured her that she would give birth to a son, and told her how she was to raise him. God then willingly condescended to meet with Manoah as well after his wife told him about the encounter. But, he appeared to Manoah’s wife first! After they both realized that it was God who appeared to them, Manoah was terrified that they would both die. However, Manoah’s wife displayed great wisdom and sensibility in her response: “If the Lord had meant to kill us, he would not have accepted a burnt offering and grain offering from our hands, nor shown us all these things or now told us this.” So great!
